Pursuant to Article 30 added by Law No. 2809 dated March 28, 1983, a decree established by the Council of Ministers and enacted upon its publication in the Official Gazette No. 27505 on February 26, 2010, led to the foundation of the Faculty of Engineering within Artvin Çoruh University. In the meeting of the Higher Education Executive Board on July 24, 2013, in accordance with Article 7/d-2 of Law No. 2547 as amended by Law No. 2880, the Department of Computer Engineering was opened within the Faculty of Engineering at Artvin Çoruh University.
The Department of Computer Engineering aims to nurture creative engineers who are keen on research and development as well as entrepreneurship, constantly striving for self-improvement by designing, developing, testing, and implementing computer hardware and software. With 5 Assistant Professor, 1 Lecturer, and 3 Research Assistants, the department offers education in three main science branches:
• Computer Hardware Science
• Computer Sciences
• Computer Software Science
